“There is a saying ,’ jobs in merchant navy is not just a job its an adventure’ … and an adventure it truly is.
Even though my 8-year career is successful as most, I still did and saw many things that most people
never dreamt of. I’ve gotten lost in the back street of Canada at 2 AM, and I have been overboard in the
ambient temperature -26 degrees Celcius where the whole sea was frozen.
I learned that honour, courage and commitment are very real. I became a citizen of the world and
became a good man. And as I look back, the memories of bad times fade and the memories of good times
remain strong and clear and comfort me as I grow older”
Arun Tiwari (Chief Officer – Anglo-Eastern Ship Management)
